about
I’m Halle and I currently live in Boston, working on my MBA at Harvard Business School. I spend a lot of time thinking about entrepreneurship, health & wellness, technology, and social responsibility; but I’ll post anything that’s on my mind. My blog is an eclectic tapestry of anecdotes, opinions, and autobiographical reflections with little focus but a lot of heart.
Before this, I worked in San Francisco as a product manager at various (socially-conscious consumer internet) startups, including Enternships.com, Kiva.org, and two others that are no longer around. Before that, I worked in operations finance at Intel where I realized cubicles and structure were not my thing. I’ve also lived in New York City, London, and Rome. But I was born and raised in Ohio where I was named after a department store.
I believe in compassionate, pragmatic service driven by creativity. In 2006, I founded the grassroots non profit Yoga Bear, providing more opportunities of wellness and healing to the cancer community. I’m also on the advisory board of GreatNonprofits.org, a Yelp-like service for philanthropy. And I write about social innovation for the Huffington Post.

“universal health care” Do you really want to cover everyone in the entire universe? Would this only apply to homosapiens? Because there could be some life-forms of higher intelligence out there who are sick too.
How many Americans are without healthcare right now? Do you know?

“I quit my job in corporate finance to join a social entrepreneurial start up.” I wish people from my business college would do the same… :)
I just stumbled into your blog and will be reading it. I write my own focused in entrepreneurship (in Portuguese, unfortunately).
Cheers and success

Hey Halle. I was introduced to your site through JTV a while back. I hope you don’t mind that I added you onto my blogroll. My site is still trying to find it’s voice. I’ve been going back and forth on whether or not it’s going to be a website devoted to features, a blog of my daily findings/interests, or maybe a blend of the two. Anyway, I think your blog is great. You seem like a very interesting person, and I enjoy reading your posts. Have a great week.

Hey Halle. I’ve decided to keep my site up. I had a a couple issues with GoDaddy about some reoccurring billing errors and domain renewals. I was ready to move on to another provider, but today I spoke with different customer service reps who were more customer oriented and willing to work with me. They were very helpful and we were able to solve all of the billing issues. I removed the post since it no longer pertains to my intentions with the site, so I hope you don’t mind me replying to your question here. I hope all is well in SF.
