nice to see you here

a birthday wish

with one comment

Last year for my birthday, I asked for the XO Laptop, where the laptop was donated to a kid in the third world.  Through the generosity of friends and readers, my birthday wish came true.  And hopefully that kid is still tinkering away on his machine.

This year, the gift I want is far less costly.  My birthday, November 4th, falls on Election Day.  With the coaching of some close friends, I’ve been trying to be less emotional about this election (although I have a visceral sense that one candidate is a far better choice for our country).  I’m learning to be more open and objective to the arguments, knowing that neither party is perfect.

So instead of asking you to vote for Obama for my birthday (although that would be a wise, wise choice), I’m asking you simply to vote.  Especially you folks residing in Ohio.

Learn about the republican and democratic candidates.  Think about issues that deeply matter to you and our country— the economy, health care, an end to the war… Think about the track-record of the candidates and who will best clean up the aftermath of the bush-administration.  Then use your vote to voice your opinion.

And if you’re not registered, do so here.

  1. I wish you a happy birthday, however, I will not vote because most politicians are corrupt thieves that think of no one but themselves and will say anything the voters wish to hear…
