open architecture challenge
This challenge is a partnership of architecture for humanity (an incredible organization that focuses on sustainable developments in communities) and 50by15 (another cool org with the mission to provide 50% of the world with affordable internet access by 2015). The challenge gives architects, designers, and students the opportunity to design sustainable technology facilities in three under-served areas: Nepal, Ecuador, and Kenya.
I love seeing professionals get together to develop smart, green solutions to problems that are traditionally left to NGOs with limited resources and heavy pressure to develop the lowest cost solution.
Very interesting idea. !!
